5 Reasons It’s Okay to Have a Job (for now).

2. Experience - although I’m a firm believer in getting entrepreneurial experience in your own business, I’ve benefited in a huge way from my time in my job. I can’t complain too much about getting such valuable experience in the incubator of someone else’s business.
3. Connections - I’ve made some excellent business relationships at my company. This may not be true at your office; the industry I’m in tends to attract entrepreneurial types. Whenever I’m able to leave the company to work full-time on my own, I’ll take a nice rolodex with me for future business relationships.
4. Structure - one of the hardest parts of being self-employed is knowing what to do with your time. In a time clock environment you do directed work for a certain number of hours each day. It gives you a clear start and stop time. If you can make scheduled work a habit and develop time management skills during your corporate career you’ll be much better off when you become Unemployed.
5. Health insurance - As an employed person you’ll get more comprehensive, economical health coverage than you will being Unemployed. My wife has told me about cooperative health insurance plans for self-employed people. Maybe I’ll have to post about that in the near future.
