End the day right
Although organizing once a week helps, it is best when you clean everything up at the end of the day. If you clear off your work area after you are finished, you are more inclined to go back to that work space the next day with an energetic and ambitious attitude. Having less mess to deal with leaves the work burden a little easier to bear.
Do it as you go
The best way to keep your home office from cluttering up is to put things away and organize them as you go. Sorting and filing papers and documents as you go maintains order. Even better, it is good to organize documents and notes in order of importance. Getting the most important work done first and moving on to the rest will get things done faster and help you to manage your time as well.
Keep all unnecessary clutter out
Having clutter that has absolutely nothing to do with your job can be annoying. Make sure you keep only the necessities of your job in your work area, leaving everything else out. If you have less “stuff” to deal with, you can more fully concentrate on the task at hand, and not on the dirty cereal bowl you left on your desk yesterday morning. Having a clean and organized work space will allow you to get to work, get it done, and get on with life.
