I’ve heard Brian Tracy say that two of the most important skills you can have are action orientation and the ability to maintain a long term perspective. Why do you suppose he chose those two. Let’s look at action orientation first.

What it comes down to in life is the action taker will win almost every time over the analyst. Why do you think there are so many ‘dumb’ millionaires? Because book smart people tend to be more comfortable with analysis, and business smart people tend to be more comfortable with action. The action oriented person will make mistakes and have failures, but they’ll be better for the experiences they have. If they don’t quit they’ll come out stronger.

Make it happen. Take action. Mess it up and get dirty and you’ll find your way to your goals.
