You will hear me say it a thousand times on this blog: you have to have your story straight about why you are or aren’t successful before you change any aspect of your business. Otherwise you’re just guessing and you’re just as likely to mess it up as you are to help it.

Get the right information. Develop a system for tracking the stats of your business so you know when your key numbers are off - or on. Watch them carefully and tweak things only in controlled experiments with a clear understanding of how to reset things to normal when you realize an experiment fails.

If you don’t apply this one principle - understanding your business and its key numbers - all you will have is frustration and failure. And you will go out of business.
