Answer: Whichever one minimizes your risk while allowing you to reach your business goals.
I hear a lot of people that are trying to make money online talk about how you have to start in a small niche so you have a chance to succeed. I’d say that’s only true if you’re a small thinker with a lack of long term perspective.
Here’s why - you can be a big fish in a small pond, but the way the internet works your pond could be swallowed up by another pond overnight. Or - a bigger fish in a bigger pond could accidentally take over your spot in your pond without even trying. Not a very ideal situation.
That’s why I think the safe, sustainable play is to try to be a big enough fish in a big enough pond. Pretty ambiguous right? Right. If entrepreneurship wasn’t ambiguous, it wouldn’t pay well and it wouldn’t be any fun.
